Lead the Quality activities for identifying and developing the Supply Base for new product development and launches. Lead the APQP activities (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc.) for new programs and components.
Manage and/or conduct the supplier audit process – initial audits, surveillance audits at supplier’s manufacturing facilities as identified by Supply Chain, Engineering, Walbro manufacturing plants or ppm and corrective action responses.
Lead the Walbro Supplier Development program – Quality System documentation, identify and address gaps, Walbro and Supplier training, etc.
Lead the quality improvement effort for the existing supply base.

* Supplier Corrective action process
* Improvement workshops at supplier manufacturing facilities.
Assess critical new suppliers in accordance with the Supplier Quality Audit procedure.
Reassessment of existing suppliers as identified by Supply Chain, plants or ppm/SCAR performance.
Documentation and follow up on audit results and required actions to be addressed by the supplier.
Recommend suitability of suppliers in terms of technology in their field of production (machines & equipment), lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality systems (ISO 9000 based) when a sourcing decision is being considered.
Develop and follow improvement action plans for the key strategic suppliers in their business stream who are not performing in line with requirements or in order to reach common benefits (suppliers chosen based upon impact to multiple WEM sites and resources)
Lead Improvement Workshops at suppliers.
Manage the APQP process for critical new or changed components per Walbro Quality system requirements.
Approve initial PSW's for critical parts.
Create and/or revise Supplier Quality system documentation to support the Supplier Development program.
Provide training to Walbro and supplier for Supplier Development requirements – PPAP, SCAR’s, PFMEA, audits, etc.
To work on any special assignments related to improving supplier quality or plant quality, as required.
Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
