The Center for Watershed Protection, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is searching for a Communications and Marketing Manager to manage and conduct all the activities related to our communications and marketing plan and overall organizational communications.
The Communications and Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and organizing activities such as the annual report, quarterly e-newsletter, blog, website, social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin), press releases, media outreach, developing brochures and other marketing materials, assisting with proposals, measuring the success of these efforts, and supporting other organizational communication activities.
Examples of Projects for this Position: *Development of the annual report include gathering information from other staff, working with the Executive Director and others on content, getting price quotes, working with designer, and sending reports out. *Executing activities related to social media accounts. *Being the first line of contact for reporters asking for information. *Writing regular press releases on news-worthy work and working with other staff to develop content. *Implementing activities as outlined in the communications plan. *Measuring the effectiveness of marketing strategies. *Working in concert with the graphic designer to keep the website up to date *Production of the monthly online newsletter Runoff Rundown *Working with other staff to put together proposals, provide editing/ writing support, and ensure that proposals communicate our message effectively. *Developing yearly communications plans for the organization in concert with the Executive Director and other staff. *Working with marketing staff to develop and implement effective marketing strategies. *Making recommendations on future communications actions to the Executive Director and senior management team.
Strong writing, editing and organizational skills are required, along with a bachelor’s degree and enthusiasm for environmental work. The ideal candidate will be a team player with extensive relevant communications and marketing experience. Experience working for nonprofit organizations, especially as it relates to water, is a bonus. This position provides an opportunity to help an established and respected organization take their communications to the next level by establishing a communications infrastructure and helping to engage a broader audience.
