Responsibilities of High School Physics Teacher:

• Develop and implement a curriculum and lesson plans that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the grade assigned.
• Create hands-on, inquiry-based, project-based lessons that build excitement for science.
• Demonstrate scientific concepts using models, technology, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
• Evaluate each student’s progress in their scientific knowledge and skills.
• Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.
• Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning.
• Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning.
• Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.).
• Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback.
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings.
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.

Requirements of the High School Physics Teacher:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics REQUIRED (or extensive coursework in physics)
• Minimum of 2 years of science teaching experience at the K-12 or higher education level OR relevant teaching experience such as tutoring or serving as a teaching assistant
• Interest to contribute to school community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, student club leader, or otherwise
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
