Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to participate in the development of our revolutionary gas sensor technology.
The successful candidate will, under the guidance of our VP of Technology, help develop and execute research and development plans to model sensor-environment interactions, validate models in real-world conditions, and help develop sensor algorithms leading to accurate measurement of gas concentrations over the environmental operating window.
This is a full-time, fully in-person position reporting to our VP of Technology at our San Diego, CA facility. We offer full benefits and a competitive salary.
Specific responsibilities include:
Developing multi-physics models for our sensor technology
Designing and conducting experiments to guide device development
Configuring and conducting experiments to validate sensor models
Synthesizing and analyzing experimental data
Reporting results to internal and external stakeholders
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science with at least 5 years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of industry experience.
Experience with both hands-on laboratory operations and computational modeling
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to present clear, concise conclusions from data, and propose next steps
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Energetic and motivated self-starter
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to apply or derive simple, analogous physical models to real-world devices
Proficiency in at least one programming language
Familiarity with Python
Familiarity with Mathematica and/or LabView are a plus
